Over the last few years, Google has released a number of updates to its search engine algorithm, the majority of which were Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird. These updates set augmented rules on how owners can arrange their sites for link building, create incoming links, and use anchor text for outgoing links. Notwithstanding the changes, though, on-page SEO hasn’t changed all that much. Each on-page SEO function is actually for the benefit of the customer. Yet, most SEOs have not yet come to terms with this fact.

 

Google wants the user to be happy when they visit your website. And, the only way that Google should know that users of your site are satisfied is when they’re engaged. How long are they going to spend reading your content? I’m going to show you the essential things to pay attention to in this content. They will increase your search traffic, raise your rankings, and make off-page SEO much easier for you.

Unintentional duplicate content will slow down indexing, so check your site to delete it. It makes some sense. Don’t we all hate to wait, after all? Yet, the instant gratification of the internet has only made us more impatient. This makes sense, though, that Google cares about page loading time (and has been around for a very long time). From the Official Blog of Webmasters:

Back in 2010, Matt Cutts announced that the pace of the web would be lower than other primary ranking factors, such as importance, authority ties, and so on. That’s not as accurate anymore. Nowadays, speed is important, almost as much as a keyword phrase. Recent studies show that a one-second delay in page response time will result in a 7 % reduction in conversions.

Are you taking meta tags seriously? Although the role of the title tag or meta description has changed significantly over the last few years, it is still a good practice to pay attention to them.

In On-Page SEO, the main types of meta tags that you should pay attention to are:

Title Tags: Title tags define the title of your web page or document. They’re mostly used to display preview snippets of your web pages. When you’re writing your title tag, it should be short, clear and descriptive but don’t duplicate content from the page content.

The ideal length is between 50 and 60 characters. When your title tag is more than 60 characters, Google will only show the first 60 characters.

Meta Description: This is how the meta description usually appears in the organic search list:

The meta description is what search engines use to gauge what topic you’re writing about and the exact audience that they should send to that page. So, make it descriptive and short – no more than 160 characters. There is no need to stuff keywords in your meta description (which would work against you anyway). 160 characters are just not enough space for stuffing.  Instead, use synonyms or latent semantic indexing (LSI) of your main keyword to get on-page SEO in the meta description, keeping search engines happy.

For example, if your main keywords in the headline are “generate web traffic,” here are the keywords of LSI that you can use:

  • get site visitors
  • drive free traffic
  • attract site visitors
  • attract website visitors

You must also be careful not to repeat title tags or meta explanations. Ubersuggest will help with this, too. You’ll see something that looks like this on the same results page (domain audit) that shows the speed of the app. Outputs can differ, and we’re just using an example of this.

You will discuss any issues relevant to your title tags or meta descriptions. For example, the above shows that my site has 8 pages with duplicate title tags. You will be given the following by clicking on the following question:

Unless there is a good reason for this, such as the use of the same title for content in different languages (see above), it is important to make the necessary modifications.

 

CREATE CONTENTS THAT DRIVES SEARCH TRAFFIC

Content is the backbone of a thriving business, and SEO is the backbone of content marketing. You’ve probably heard the saying, “Content is King.” But there’s a lot more to good content marketing than just “Data.” You’ve got to publish the kind of data that drives traffic and grows your company. It includes the use of specific keyword phrase components that include long – tail anchor phrases.

You’ll also notice that when you start creating in-depth content, you’ll see a corresponding increase in traffic from long-tail searches, a very specific keyword phrase indicating buyer positioning and urgency. These helps search engines give you juice because you are helping people solve problems with your content.

Your customers are smarter than you think these days. You have to be willing to listen and learn from them–their search for solutions motivates them to ask certain questions. These questions can tell you exactly what you want the most.

According to Demand Metric, 76% of online shoppers were excited and closer to the company after reading their customized content. That’s why 78% of CMOs find custom content to be the future of digital marketing. Duplicate content was once an easy trick to get content so search engines would see more things, but duplicate content is now easily found by search algorithms and penalizes the guilty party.

Traffic-generating content makes the user happy. So, we’re going to start with the aspect of content marketing that matters most: user experience optimization. It often starts with a keyword phrase relating to what the user is searching for.

 

UNDERSTAND THE GOOGLE PANDA ALGORITHM

The update to the Panda algorithm was first released in February 2011. It was designed to help Google return high – quality results when users type a keyword phrase in the search box.



While other updates have come and gone, the impact of Panda is still going strong. You may remember that Panda has penalized low – quality content and thin pages. When you consider the state of the market today, you ‘re going to agree with me that Google’s top-ranking results have improved considerably since Panda.

 

Marketers have come to realize that without the right content, nothing spectacular can be achieved. Panda made it easier for smart content marketers to start a conversation with their content. You provide your customers with insights and advice, and they respond to them with questions, appreciation or suggestions.

 

That’s also the explanation for Google Hummingbird–to put the consumer and the marketer together and satisfy the needs of the user. If you want to improve your search ranking, you need to consider two aspects of your content:

 

AVOID LOW QUALITY CONTENT: The days of generic products with no meaning have been long gone. Enough said that.

 

AVOID THIN CONTENT: Your content may be of high quality in terms of the information you post, but if you want to improve your blog in SERPs, you also need to increase the length of your material. Limited more than 300-or 500-word entries, unless you also use an infographic on the same page. Alternatively, write in-depth articles of 2000 words or more, because the recent length of content influences rankings.

CONTENT FRESHNESS: The percentage of content on a page that remains fresh has an effect on the rankings of the site. Google is taking freshness really seriously. As a result, Google now chooses fresh content, breaking news and other recent content updates that deal with trends. When it comes to SEO on-page, you might be wondering how Google rates new content. Okay, according to Amit Singhal, “different searches have different needs for freshness.”

Freshness isn’t fresh as a ranking factor. Over the years, before the Data Score based on the Document Content Update, patented by Google engineers in 2003, the Google search engine has been able to record content based on freshness for many years. Of course, some search terms or keywords require fresh content or perspective. For example, if you are searching for a coupon code to host for 2019, it would be totally useless to find a coupon code that was produced in 2017 or 2018 and was only valid for those years.

 

HOT TRENDS: These are things that are going on right now, all over the world. Gaming niche players usually publish recent or upcoming games for a month. Some hot-trend keywords can be found on Google.com / Trends: a typical example of an authority site that will benefit from a Google Freshness opportunity is Mashable. This popular site is constantly publishing fresh content that focuses on what’s hot in the fields of entertainment, technology, start – ups, business, education, and politics. Its on-page SEO relies on news or gossip terms.

 

RECURRING EVENTS: Events that take place every month, every quarter, every year, etc., can also lead to an increase in freshness, as such content requires constant updating. Such keywords are recurrent:

  • AT&T earnings
  • NFL scores
  • The Voice contestants


FREQUENT INFORMATION UPDATE: Some other keywords Google is looking for need for frequent updates. For eg, best dslr cameras and best fitness programs. Such three parameters are important to Google for the freshness of the web page. But don’t forget that Google is also testing the freshness of a web page based on the day it was found by Google. With time, this freshness fades and new content with a newer start date replaces the old product.

 

So, what are you supposed to do to improve your site’s freshness score and ultimately attract more search traffic? First of all, you have to publish fresh content on an ongoing basis. If you can, publish on a regular basis and ensure that you share useful tips with your target audience. If you’re busy as I am, then publishing twice a week will make sure your web pages are fresh and attract new Google spiders as well as deep bots that will support your indexed pages.

 

Research shows that Google tends to be providing new information to users while searching for a keyword. To combat this prejudice, some people use Blackhat SEO techniques to manipulate the freshness of the web page by changing the start date for older articles and websites. This may work, but it is very risky and not sustainable. Avoid taking shortcuts that might seem appealing to you. CONTENT ENGAGEMENT: In this sense, the word “dedication” refers to the state of interactivity. The true test of high – quality content is its dedication. If you’re mindful of engaging your audience, you ‘re more likely to make the right material for them. The search engines love that stuff.
